How to Set Up Water, Sewer & Trash Service

• Apply in the Finance Department at City Hall. 
• Documents needed: Photo ID such as a N.C. driver’s license,
  lease agreement and/or proof of ownership.
• A non-refundable application fee of $15 is required along with any
  old debt owed to the City of Eden. 
• Renters are required to pay a $175 deposit for service inside the
  City limits. A $250 deposit is required for service outside the City limits.
• The meter is read before water service starts to get a
  beginning reading.
• You will not be billed for service for at least 30 days after your
  service begins.
• We currently bill monthly for inside the City residential customers
  with a ¾” water meter:
  • Water Flat Rate $13.80 plus $6.54 per 1,000 gallons
  • Sewer Flat Rate $13.17 plus $7.95 per 1,000 gallon
  • Solid Waste $24.50

Understanding Your Bill

• Bills are due 20 days from the bill date. A reminder notice is
  mailed after the due date. This reminder will include a $10 late fee.
• If payments are not made within 10 days after the due date,
  a $40 delinquent payment penalty will be charged.
  Water service will be subject to disconnection without further notice.
• Pay by cash, check or credit card - note that a 3.5 percent processing fee is charged for credit card payments and a returned check fee
  of $25 will be assessed for all returned checks and drafts.
