ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed Bids for the Eden WTP and WWTP Hypochlorite Conversion project will be received by the City of Eden, at the office of the Administrative Assistant of the City Manager, 308 E. Stadium Drive, Eden, NC 27288 (physical), or PO Box 70, Eden, NC 27289 (mailing) until 2:00 PM local time on May 12, 2026, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud. Work consists of the following:
1. WTP
a. HDPE storage tanks and Day Tanks
b. Chemical feed system
c. Chemical feed piping
d. Instrumentation and Controls (not including systems integration)
2. WWTP
a. Conversion of a chemical storage area for new HDPE storage tanks
b. Retrofit of an existing chemical feed building including new hypochlorite feed equipment
c. Instrumentation and Controls (not including systems integration)
A Pre-Bid site visit is not mandatory but may be arranged by contacting Melinda Ward, Acting Public Works Director 336-616-4755, at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Each Bid must be accompanied by a BID BOND payable to the Owner for five (5) percent of the total bid amount. A CERTIFIED CHECK in the amount of not less than five (5) percent of the bid amount may be submitted in lieu of a BID BOND. A PERFORMANCE BOND and PAYMENT BOND, each in the amount of one hundred (100) percent of the Contract Price, with a corporate surety approved by the OWNER, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract. The bid bond must be submitted in a separate envelope paper clipped to the bid package in order to be considered responsive.
The OWNER reserves the right to waive irregularities and informalities in bids received and to reject any and all bids and to award the contract where it appears to be in the best interest of the Owner.
Bidders must be a properly licensed Contractor in the State of North Carolina. Contractor’s NC license number must be on the outside of the bid package in order to be considered a Responsive Bid.
Please notify the Engineer of intent to bid the project to be placed on the plan holders list.
