The City of Eden is pleased to announce the location of Microporous in the Southern Virginia Megasite at Berry Hill.

Microporous, a manufacturer of lithium-ion battery separators, announced Nov. 13 a $1.35 billion investment and the creation of 2,015 jobs to be located at the site.

The City of Eden is the primary water and sewer utility provider to the Southern Virginia Megasite in an interstate partnership with the City of Danville, Va.

The City of Eden has invested $9 million dollars of water and sewer infrastructure funds (primarily from grant sources) to provide up to 5 MGD of water and 3 MGD of sewer to the Southern Virginia Megasite as part of regional economic development and diversification of utility customers. We congratulate Microporous on their expansion and welcome them to the region

On behalf of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Eden, congratulations are extended to the administration of the Honorable Glenn Youngkin, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia; the Honorable Alonzo Jones, Mayor of the City of Danville; and the Honorable Darrell Dalton, Chairman of the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors and the respective governing bodies of Danville and Pittsylvania County on this exciting economic development news.

As neighbors and partners in this project the City of Eden applauds the efforts at regional cooperation and teamwork to enhance the economic opportunities for all residents.
