City Steps Up Its Code Enforcement

405 Moir

The City of Eden has stepped up its inspections and enforcement of the Nuisance Ordinance, Junked Vehicles, Human Habitation Standards, Non-Residential Building Maintenance Standards and Zoning Violations.  During the month of August 155 properties received notices for the following:

118 for high grass and high weeds;

14 for junk and trash violations;

11 for junk vehicles;

3 for zoning violations;

9 for Human Habitation Standards.

N. C General Statutes require that a Notice be mailed to each property owner by certified mail-return receipt requested and first class mail.  If that mail is returned, the property must be posted.  The City of Eden posts every property at the beginning of the process.  The 155 properties that received notices created 189 certified mail notices and 189 first class mail notices.
