Plans to reopen

Announcement for Website

Listed below are the operating plans moving forward with COVID 19 Phase 2.5 beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8. These will remain in effect until modified by the City Manager. This entails allowing the reopening of playgrounds, increasing mass gathering indoors from 10 to 25, and mass gathering outdoors from 25 to 50.

Freedom Park:
Continue to operate the facility as we have in Phase 2. This includes opening the facility and maintaining social distancing during the use of the park by citizens. The splash pad will continue to operate with a maximum of 25 users at a time. The walking track, basketball courts, skateboard park, nature trail and dog park would continue to operate as in Phase 2. There will continue to be no shelter rentals. The playground will reopen to the public. The softball complex and multi-purpose field would continue to operate as in Phase 2 with no weekend tournaments held during Phase 2.5.

Citywide Playgrounds:
All playgrounds will reopen in Phase 2.5.

Facility Rentals:
There still will be no rentals due to the limited number of individuals allowed in a facility.

Bridge Street and Mill Avenue Recreation Centers:
These two facilities will open in the afternoon to the public with a maximum of 25 participants at a time. Staff will operate these sites as we do the afterschool programs during normal operations.

Garden of Eden Senior Center:
This facility will return to operating weekdays from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. with a maximum of 25 participants in the facility at any given time.

Please note, at all indoor facilities that are open, staff will have participants sign in and ask them if they are experiencing any symptoms of COVID 19 before they are allowed in the facility. Staff will also sanitize the facility before, during and at the end of each evening.

Eden City Hall
To get back to some type of normalcy on how the residents are being able to conduct business at City Hall, we will place markings in the lobby to the Finance Department and allow individuals to enter the building (staying within the 6 feet social distancing guidelines and wearing a mask) to pay their bills in person. Other staff will be available to meet with visitors as needed in the front lobby or conference room.

We appreciate your patience and trust in us as we navigate through this process together.
