As most if not all of you are aware, the City of Eden will have ONE youth football program this year. Rather than waiting until our first day of practice, July 29th, to try and get everyone on the same page we would like to have some spring workouts set up so the players and parents can start to get acclimated to the Prowlers way of doing things.
We have a commitment from Coach Earl Fountain and Coach Airyn Willis to help run a one-hour work out session every Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, at Freedom Park. Coach Fountain and Coach Willis have both been on the Morehead coaching staff the past few years and both will continue their coaching roles at either Morehead or Holmes Jr. High this coming season.
These workouts are free & and voluntary with the focus being on footwork and conditioning. If you choose to participate, please be there by 5:25 PM so we can start on time and remain on site with your child until we end at 6:30 PM or be back by 6:20 PM. These coaches are giving up their personal time to work with the children for free and everyone wants to go home at the end. It is not fair to the men who volunteer their time to have to wait for a parent to pick up their child causing them to get home late.
In order to establish a routine we will go from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM every Tuesday and Thursday. If you are going to participate, please EMAIL ME BACK at firstname.lastname@example.org so I can create a Spring Football email distribution list. I will need to be able to post onto the Prowlers FB page and email those that are participating if something like bad weather causes us to cancel a day.
At a later date we will have the water horse set up but that will not be until late May. So until then please send water with your child and instruct them to make sure their trash is placed into a trashcan, not onto the field.
Athletic clothing should be worn, cleats are optional, must be a City of Eden Resident or attend an Eden School, and ages 5-14 are welcome. We will start on April 16th but take SPRING BREAK week Off.
