Freedom Park History
The Playground of Our Future began in 1996 with the formation of the Eden Park Committee. After several years of dreaming, planning, and designing, the committee was awarded a $150,000 grant from the North Carolina Parks and Recreation Trust Fund. The grant was matched equally by the City of Eden and the two gifts provided the funds needed to launch the first phase of park development in the fall of 2000.

Infields have been designated to adjust base paths from 60', 65', 70' and 80'. The adjustable base paths will allow various organizations the opportunity to use the field for tournament play. Additional features include portable baseball mounds, bleacher seating and batting cage.
